After giving birth to her second daughter Zaya-Rose in November 2013, the multi-faceted artist has not let the grass grow under her feet. She impressed SA audiences with her role on Strictly Come Dancing Season 7 and is hard at work on her new singles, which will be released during the course of 2015.

But that wouldn’t be a surprise for a talent such as LeAnne, who has graced stages across the world and worked with some of the biggest artists on the planet on her way to becoming a headline act herself.

Having already opened for stellar acts such as Akon, Mika, Fat Joe, Kanye West, Sean Paul, Joss Stone, Snoop Dogg and Pharell Williams, she is destined to make it big with her own brand of music as well.

A graduate of the National School of the Arts, LeAnne was discovered while leading praise worship at the Rhema Church and signed a 3 year contract with international record label Creative Kingdom Records and hasn’t looked back since.

After her first album, Simply Luvlee achieved groundbreaking success, earning her a MetroFM award for Best Female R&B Album and a release with Universal Records in Poland, LeAnne moved onwards and upwards with the release of her second album – The Journey – which was written and recorded in Dubai, Johannesburg and Los Angeles.

The album produced exceptional hits such as “Deal With It”, “Be With You” and ” Don’t Get Me Started,” bringing her success with two South African Music Awards for Best Female R&B Artist, Best Produced Album and a nomination for Best RnB Video in the Channel O Music Video Awards. The Journey, was also released in Bahrain, the UAE, Japan and several additional digital platforms globally.

LeAnne’s talent was also noticed as she made the Top 20 in the popular X Factor UK 2012 and has already had 4 Top 10 Radio Singles and 2 number ones.Proof that LeAnne had not only made it, but was already seen as an icon came as she appeared as part of the new part of the new Woolworths campaign, sharing the spotlight international co-star, Zoë Kravitz. The shoot was also featured in a Top Billing insert in 2011, and LeAnne will again grace the popular show on 12 March 2013.

With so much talent, LeAnne has made the media sit up and take notice as well; appearing on the cover of Mango Airlines inflight magazine. Living & Loving, My Parenting, Prividar and prominent features in Elle, Grazia, Marie Claire and Destiny magazines as well.

Her busy schedule has also included performances at Mzanzi Loves Soul, Eldos Jazz Festival, Cape Town North Sea Jazz Festival, Stellenbosch Gardens Summer Concerts, the Viva Africa Festival (Dubai) and Soweto Jazz Festival.

She also performed at the distinguished Miss South Africa Pageant and other top functions like the Metro FM Awards and the SA Sports awards.

With so much positivity around her, and her career heading upwards, it’s nice to know LeAnne is still very much a family person, who keeps her feet on the ground.

“I want to be remembered as someone who never gave up, who worked hard & fought for her dreams. To be remembered as someone who never compromised & who loved God & my family with all my heart.”

And with this in mind it isn’t a wonder LeAnne draws crowds whenever she is near. A shining light in the darkness, her star will continue to shine brightly for a long time to come.

LeAnne has also started The Women for Women #EndGirlHate campaign. LeAnne started The Women for Women campaign because she felt there was not enough love, encouragement and support amongst women. She decided to use social media to her advantage and spread her message of Women supporting Women. It is a Sisterhood movement!

Why Wednesday? LeAnne chose Wednesdays because she saw people posting about Women Crush Wednesday and thought what better day to do it! Let’s celebrate each other more on that day.

LeAnne’s aim with Women for Women is really just to encourage women to support each other, to spread the message of kindness and to encourage women to end girl hate and spread love.
